Pacha massive night

December 14, 2010 1 Comment

With heat wave full on, we headed to the Elbo room to check out the Newyorquinos, Pacha Massive. This show was a few weeks ago, back in November.

We had fun, it was an early concert (around 6PM-8ish) but very mellow cool.
This foto was taken by our SMFF amigo Rio, which I borrowed from his post (but of course with his signature animated GIFs) here:

La calitexican had to flea the scene early, but that’s OK because she was a SF film festival bike parking rockstar. Word.

Sir Paul is a known avid bike lover. This vegetarian can be found on a bicycle quite often.
Allan even told me know a reader of their blog spotted him around the time he had his San Francisco show back in July this year, while he was bicycling around Golden Gate Park – as long as his photo wasn’t taken.

Here is Ringo, so cute!
and below, their music powered by Ringo’s bike. How rad is that!?

“…Ringo’s bicycle is actually powering a drum machine.”

I think I’m gonna be sad,
I think it’s today yeah.
The girl that’s driving me mad
Is going away, yeah.

She’s got a ticket to rihiiiiiiiiide,
She’s got a ticket to ride,
But she don’t care.

Volker’s bicibomba bike stereo

October 15, 2010 5 Comments

Boom boxes. Beats. Bikes. Boom box baby!
Special thanks to Volker +his Surly sound machine, for providing the finest beats at the back of the bus throughout this week’s butterlap with a playlist orchestrated by mi calitexican, LMG and Nio. Some nice beats rolling all over the city and a remarkable little ride down Oak st. – which I never get brave enough ride on. Muy special.

Here is a photo and a little video I made from shots taken last month, when V had just mounted some additional hacks to this music haiku. Maybe more videos in the future?! Ding ding.

Then before Diana and I walked away from the deYoung and to look for some dinner, we ran into mi Ramona, her snowball (her creamy white mixte) and her partner in bikey crime. We of course, were artfully directed by the lovely miz wheelright and took some photos in that relaxing open space area outside the deYoung.

Roseanne Cash, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass

Roseanne Cash, what a voice. And to finish the day off, Sharon Jones and her band finished the set at the Rooster stage like no other. Gave us rythm and got us all dancing. There are no pictures of her per se — we were a bit far from the stage and a very dark night at the park. But we sure had a blast.

the bike parking was insaneeee, I luckily got into the park via the inner richmond so seeing this self-parking pop up racks, was pretty nice.

So happy to see her once again in the city. Magical. She is so AWESOME!
The independent now has 1 (or 2) new additional racks for a few months. We really appreciate that!
