Soil Saloon tonight.
Be there. No maps here – if you know, you know.
Also, they have a sweet deal to win a bike:
“As this series progresses, we’re still waiting for people to go into the Marin bicycles store, take a soil saloon themed picture to win a sweet, sweet mountain bike. Get in there. Get creative. Email us the results Then get to our races. We’re still waiting on entries. At this point, if you actually send in a picture, your chances of winnin’ are pretty damn sweet. Just racin’ won’t get you anything though. So get out those cameras and lather on that creativity.
Send entries to firstname.lastname@example.org. Tell your friends, maybe they need a mountain bike so they can race the next saloon. Must be present at the final event to win.”
OK, that is all for now. See you there!
With the World Cup fever (Are you with Germany or Spain?!) Speaking of world cup fever, if you bike to the games, don’t forget to submit your fan pictures to the pool the fabulous gals over VeloVogue: Bike to The Cup
I’m hoping to be done with work by butterlap time. 7PM Ferry buiilding. See ya there.
New buttercup Bill has one a very cool gadgets to measure the distance, altitude and what not, and he has shared his little map above (thanks!!) from his first ride last week, which was great crisp weather and we all met tons of new people and riders that had first joined the ride. Very awesometastic!
I was crackin up when one of my friends pointed me to this picture taken by the lovely Kelley,
proof there is some skin under the color tights. I had been hot all day, mid50°s with heavy fog felt great.

Ade recently got a new camera and she wrote a cool post about some new women riders two weeks ago, over at Change Your Life, Ride a Bike!: sticking together.
Lisa Marie also took some super cool ones that day, and on Gwen’s first butterlap, she conquered those hills in her basket red bike like a champ. Ride on girlfriend!! Here is LMG’s set:
Come stretch your legs and detox your brain from work or play, ride some hills and sweat a little.
Last week lady Dee and I went to a ballgame. The once in a blue-moon I go to baseball games in SF, is with my girlfriends. This time we met up by the Bike parking valet and then we sat by the new open space where there is a second location to the Mijita’s restaurant and you can have a drink and some snacks as an alternative to the typical stadium food. This recently redone space with Public House is excellent for people watching, and so we sat around, chatted and did plenty of sightings for a bit. I got to meet one of my fave beer loving-blog readers inside the park, J (+thanks!!)
We had fun but the fanbase was mostly quiet.
(KT + all the girls I have gone with are super fun). We weren’t even cheering much, and we were perhaps the loudest ones around our section. I guess people cheer now via twitter. Who knows, as an A’s fan I think I’m just used to going to see my man Suzuki in the rowdy Oakland coliseum.
We still had our fun though, and I don’t feel like getting any shit for wearing A’s gear so I wore neutral stuff. Before heading home I refueled my caffeinated jets by stopping at the Philz on 3rd and Berry and let the car+pedestrian traffic mellow out.
Remember, bike parking at the ballpark is super cool and for all of you visiting from outside SF, you can also use it. More info here: sfbike website
I shot this uber-blurry photo once we were on Valencia street. We rode from West portal down Clipper st through Noe Valley and then dropped down in the Mission. What did we do in West Portal, we went to a little show out there.
We all wore dresses, skirts, we all rode hills. This little camera just won’t do, but while riding on the south-west side of the city with the ladies and Portola Ave, the view was excellent. Super clear skies, semi-steep hills that go for quiet a while, fast-moving yet mellow traffic and then the back view of the sutro tower in the background. No fog clouds surrounding the horizon, yet. It was just a beautiful sighting. You had to be there 😀
The music was by Hang Jones and they jammed a good session celebrating the 4th of July this past Saturday at the Music Store on West Portal Ave.
