sunday walk report

August 30, 2016 2 Comments
como una flor

como una flor

hi yes i am a coach potato night writer but i may look more like a little pretzel, actually.
gotta admit i’m still a bit sore from sunday’s long walk but very glad that happened.
deciding to get out and enjoy some sun versus diving into a fresh acquisition from the library is not easy these days (Dance Dance Dance by Murakami).
sunday it was, a long mellow walk that turned out to be a few miles through a few neighborhoods.
no pace tracking or gizmos. just saying hello to the flowers, a full bottle of water and sunglasses.

pit stops with very flexible alternatives if needed.
1. COFFEE.
2. golde gate park.
3. pizza.

i had been to this little corner coffee corner before, sometime after its opening perhaps last year, and i’m glad it seems to have lots of business. great spot for a quick espresso shot.
i enjoy seeing a bunch of dogs come by, and parents with their babies, and dogs, and some groceries on the go. oh and a coffee. parents are super humans.

also, sundays are farmer’s market day in the inner richmond on clement, which i always seem to forget about.

espresso pit stop at the “island” in the inner richmond, at 5th/california.

entering golden gate park💕 on fulton st. means the rollerskating music welcomes you to nature.

at the end of the 4, maybe 5 mile walk it felt nice to sit down and wait for pizzas —with pastry in hand, and coffee in the other— arizmendi bakery is the forever jam of jams.

i took the window image on a different occasion, earlier in august as it was a rare vacant window moment. this is where pesto yum fest pizza enjoyment happened.

not pictured: took the bus route(s) home.
good to get a little lost and unintentionally exercised, sometimes.

IMG_20160814_191254playas de tijuana, mexico. the tide was particularly high a sunday afternoon in august, at its peak of summer and before school session begins. the malecón (boardwalk) was the busiest i had seen it since the 90’s.. lots of vendors on bikes/front-trikes.

—
while mi relatives and i walked a couple of miles along the sea waiting for the sun to set, and making a few stops here and there while talking, drinking iced coffee, ice cream and sitting anywhere to take a quick break, we ran into a woman who did wire-arts with little cute bikes. about the size of your palm.
i was a bit reserved and coy to take her picture and her master pieces, i told her what a great craft and so cool, and we kept walking.
a couple of days after that sunday stroll in playas de tijuana, i was surprised by one of mi nephews as he had purchased one of the lady’s pieces that sunday, for me to bring home. two years ago. he also gave me the cat drawing to the right in the picture below,  two years ago when i found a very groovy pencil set at utretch. quiet, and moody to most, i think he is very special, talented and observant 😉

this is so special, i am a lucky aunt. <3
